The investment in Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant totaled 26,500 billion VND (1.27 billion USD) including 85% Official development assistance of Japan International Cooperation Agency and 15% reciprocal capital of EVN (investor). The plant is 115 ha facility located on My Loc Commune, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh. The plant includes 2 thermal power generating units with the total capacity of 600 MW. The annual electricity output of the plant is about 3.6 billion kWh.
 

Commercial concrete supply for Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant


The first unit is expected to start commercial operation after 43 months of construction and installation (the fourth quarter of 2017) followed by the second one after 49 months (the end of the second quarter of 2018).
The plant will annually supply 3.276 billion kWh playing a role in facilitate the socio-economic development in Red river delta. Therefore, the dependence upon hydroelectric plant for electricity will reduce, especially in dry season and drought.
