The 46-kilometer Hanoi-Bac Giang National Road begins at National Road 31 intersection in Bac Giang and ends at the old Phu Dong toll station in Gia Lam District, Hanoi. The project commenced on February 20, 2014 with total investment of 4,219 billion VND (182.16 million USD) including 2,500 billion VND (107.94 million USD) of construction costs.

The upgraded road is 33 meters wide which includes 4 lanes and 2 shoulders, allowing a maximum speed of 100km/h. There is a toll station in Phu Chan commune, Tu Son town, Bac Ninh.
