National Cancer Hospital Campus 1, 2 Construction and Renovation Project was approved in accordance with the Decision 4266/QĐ – BYT of Ministry of Health on July 4th, 2018. The total investment of the project is 750 billion dong. The project is a part of the government program of upgrading and renovating specialty hospitals nationwide to deal with cancer patient overload.
According to the design, a multipurpose building of 26,000 m2 with 4 basements and 6 floors will be built at Campus 1. There are departments of Cancer Research Institute, wards of 200 inpatient beds and 120 outpatient beds, laboratories for clinical trials. Campus 2 will be upgraded and equipped with medical facilities for 200 patient beds.

Deputy Minister of Health praised the K Hospital for their efforts and believed that the hospital would meet with much success after the completion of the project. He emphasized: "The investment of the project is 750 billion VND in which 700 billion VND is government bonds. This shows that the hospital received a great deal of attention from the government and the Assembly. K Hospital shall pay attention to implement the project with safety and quality so that the hospital can soon come into service and boost the quality of the service."

He stressed: "This project is the opportunity for the development of K hospital and the enhancement of the quality of medical service for the people."

Addressing the ceremony, the representative of Vimeco-Vinaconex Bidder Mr. Duong Van Mau pledged to complete the project on schedule and to ensure safety and quality. The construction both plays an integral part of medical facilities in Vietnam in general and in Hanoi in particular and celebrates the 17th Congress of Hanoi Party Organization as well as the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
